The 8th Grade Panther Football teams hosted Boerne North Greyhounds for the last game of the season.
The White team played first and got after Boerne all night on defense. Iverson Brown recovered 2 fumbles caused by Ethan Garza and Fernando Ramirez. A long 30 yard run by Nathan Weiblen set up a touchdown pass to Ashton Solis to make it 7-0 at half. The Panther Defense was too strong and the offense couldn’t be stopped behind runs by Christian Solis and Joaquin Arguelles shut out the Boerne Greyhounds to win 7-0.
The Orange team followed and it was a back and forth battle all night. The Boerne Greyhounds would answer first but Sam Clendenin would connect with Kaiden Hernandez for a long touchdown pass to tie it up 6-6. Boerne would score again on a trick reverse but hard offensive runs by Alexander Rivas made it a tie game 12-12 at half. The Panthers would receive the opening kickoff and on the first play, Jordan Jasso would go 60 yards for a touchdown to take the lead 18-12. Boerne connected on some long passes and score the extra point to go up 18-19. The panthers and greyhounds would both score again and after a defensive battle going into the fourth quarter the panthers couldn’t stop the Greyhounds to score a late touchdown which would seal the win for them. Both teams played very hard all year and never backed down from the challenge.
The White team ended their season with a record of 4-4-1 and the Orange team ended with a record of 3-6. Thank you for all your support all year and GO PANTHERS!
